Coole Minstrels is a group of young string and wind players who perform medieval music in costume. They typically form as a project performance group in spring/summer and perform at castles and festivals around County Galway.

The beautiful costumes were largely bought from the renowned ‘Capriol Consort’ who were an established performance ensemble of wind players, singers and dancers in 1970s-1990 in Dublin and also featured regularly in Italy under the leadership of Doris Keogh. Katharina Baker had the pleasure of working with this group occasionally in the mid-nineties and when the group had discontinued, the treasures of costumes were sold to different groups and Katharina was delighted that Coole Music got the opportunity to buy some of them in order to continue this musical tradition. Since, some talented tailors among the Coole Music parents have generously given their time to extend the collection of costumes further.
