Teacher: Alan Preims / Katharina Baker
In 2007/2008, Coole Music initiated a schools programme that saw both a drumming and juggling programme made available to primary schools in the region. To date, both have been very successful, and have proven very popular with children and teachers alike.
Drumming
Teacher: Alan Preims
The Schools Drumming Programme is facilitated by percussionist Alan Preims, and is based around the same concepts as Playful Percussion. While the children cover the topics of rhythm and movement, additional benefits are improved co-ordination, teamwork, and the ability to follow non-verbal commands. The Drumming Programme is run over a series of 6-8 weeks. Coole Music provides the drums, and can facilitate up to 22 children in a group. The programme is suitable for children aged 6+, and is now also available to second level students.

Juggling
Teacher: Katharina Baker
The juggling programme is offered to Primary schools, 3rd class upwards. The layout of classes is flexible according to size of school and hall.
A minimum of 10 weeks is recommended and the 20-week spring programme has been most successful.
The students learn the main 3-ball pattern cascade plus a variety of further 3-ball-tricks. Furthermore they train a number of acts between two and more jugglers, passing 3 or 6 balls.

It has been very popular to juggle scarves as a starting point before going over to balls, clubs, diabolos, devilsticks etc. depending on what material is available.
In the end of the course the students create their own show acts with some guidance and perform it to music for an audience.
