Coole Music Youth Orchestra was founded in the autumn of 2006 with around fifteen young string players from Coole Music. Since then it has developed into a sizeable group of over thirty musicians, and now also includes woodwind instruments.
The Orchestra rehearses every Saturday at Gort Community School and has a wealth of original and entertaining repertoire on offer.
The repertoire ranges from original music composed for the Orchestra by their Conductor Katharina Baker, to film music, to Susato's Orchestra Suites and Telemann Viola Concerto.

Coole Music Youth Orchestra has had a busy concert schedule over the past few years including performances at Arts Festivals (Mountshannon, Tuam, Salthill), Orchestra Festivals (the Annual Junior Orchestra Festival in Gort), Galway Arts Award Ceremony 2007, Variety Shows ('Colourful' 2007, 'Witches, Wizards and Wonders' 2008).
In June 2009 the Orchestra went on a 5-day tour to L�beck, Germany, where the young musicians performed two celebrated concerts.
Future plans include a film project and the big Coole Music 5-year Anniversary Concert in October 2010.

Coole Music Youth Orchestra welcomes musicians from outside Coole Music. Entry to the Orchestra is by audition. Contact Coole Music if you are interested in joining.
