Teacher: Katharina Baker/Yuki Nishioka
From a violin-technical viewpoint, Fiddle Fun works differently from other known methods such as the Suzuki method. In Fiddle Fun, the children learn to play on all four strings straight away and experience the basics of important bowing techniques through a variety of songs and tunes, but leaves left hand fingerings to the second year.
The concept and material has been developed by Katharina Baker and was inspired by her Swedish colleague and friend, Evabritt Gratte.
Basic music reading is practiced right from the start, both for rhythm and pitch and a variety of musical symbols is introduced.
Every September Coole Music starts at least two new Fiddle Fun Groups, and each group is given a name (see the Fiddle Fun NAME pictured below).
After the first year, the groups break into smaller units and take shared lessons until ready for individual lessons
A waiting list is in place for future groups and as it has been a very popular and fun way for children to learn music, it is advised to book your place early. Contact Coole Music for booking details.
